Hey! So. The Carnival Parade was ok. It wasn’t as awesome as I thought it was going to be, and I’m sure it would have been more awesome if it had been more organized. But me and Michele were standing there for quite some time waiting for stuff to come by, and we must have just hit a GIANT lull in the parade because we saw almost nothing. But there were about a billion people there, tons of food vendors and jewelry and all the rest. It was really neat. And it was good to see Max, though he most definitely guilt tripped me about not calling him because I always say “we should hang out!” and it’s always my fault that it doesn’t happen. So I’ma get better at that. I’m bad at that with a lot of people. His friend was there, and a girl I know from back home and her boyfriend were there too. it was HOT but fun. I didn’t even get a roll of pictures though, which I was afraid of… because crowd pictures aren’t really my thing, plus I just didn’t see stuff I wanted to take. Oh well. I didn’t get to the gym today, but we sure walked around enough that that is FINE. I’ll get there in the morning tomorrow.

BUT the day ended excellently! My friend Kitty called me while I was at Carnival and was like, picnic! In the park! 8:00! Bring something tasty! And I was like YES! So we went, and there were about 8 of us chillin in the park eating good food after dark. I only knew Kitty and Michele and vaguely Aaron, Kitty’s boyfriend. I might have met Lisa before, but if I have it doesn’t count because I don’t remember, and she brought her friend Mike, and there was this girl Luna and another kid who’s name I forget because I didn’t actually talk to him. Me and Michele brought a chocolate cake which was extra sticky because we put marshmallow icing on it, and there were brownies and doughnut holes and quesadillas and guacamole and drinks and such. It was tasty and so much fun! It was a nerd group though, as in like Anime, Star wars, roll playing games, illustration majors sorta nerds (nothing wrong with that!), meaning a lot of the conversations and references went right over my head. But despite all that, it was hilarious and fun and I had a really really really good time! I really enjoyed Mike, he was super silly. But he doesn’t go to Pratt, he goes to SVA (another art school in Manhattan), and since Lisa brought him, that makes it a triple connection (I know Kitty who knows Lisa who knows Mike) so I hope we’ll have another fancy picnic so we can all hang out again.

A trashcan nearby caught on fire, it was pretty awesome. I noticed it smoking and I was like, hey Michele, look! And she was like WHAA?! And then it turned into flames and some other pedestrian called the fire department and they came and put it out and Kitty and Luna went over and offered them brownies but they declined, unfortunately. It was awesome. We hung out for at least an hour and a half yay! I’m really glad we had this time to go and have an awesome after-dark picnic and that it was so thoroughly enjoyable. When we got back, I drew my sketch for my Silk Screening project, and I LOVE IT! It’s not quite done yet, but it is also something that I thoroughly enjoy. I ate some dessert-type-stuff tonight and I was kind upset with myself until I reminded myself that I had the equivalent of 2 brownies, and that for the past 10 days I haven’t had ANY dessert-type-stuff and have been eating super well and healthily and going to the gym and yoga and such. So, today was allowed! I deserved it, I’m trying to tell myself. And it’s not like I ate more than I wanted or should have, I was hungry, I had a quesadilla with guacamole and a brownie and some cake. Nothing wrong with that. Humpf. :)

Welp… I think that’s all for today. I could go on and on about how awesome the picnic was, and I could go into more detail about Carnival, but I think both are unnecessary. So, I hope your after-dark picnic tonight was awesome like mine, and I hope you have a good sleep. I think I’ll read a bit and then crash :)
